I am a seventh generation Australian descended from a number of convicts and free settlers. Names and dates are essential in family history research but I like to put “flesh” on the old bones. Here are some of the interesting stories I’ve collected over the years about my ancestors and relatives.
In my day job as a teacher, I enjoy passing on my love of history and words to my students.

The work you have done helps me with the ancestors of Finlay Ross. (He was my GG Grandfather). We exchanged info many years ago. I find the essay you have published ties together much of the bits and pieces that you have found. Thank you — Brian C
